How Showville works

Be part of this amazing SABC2 talent variety show as it comes to your town and stand the chance to win R10 000! See the bottom of this page regarding obtaining free tickets for the final show in your town on Day 3.

DAY 1

Anyone over 16 can enter for free to come to the auditions on Day 1. Our talent catchment area is approximately within a 50km radius of a venue. You must also be available for the next two days should you make the shortlist of four.

Register between 12.30 and 4pm for the auditions, and be prepared for a pre-screening to determine which acts make it into the auditions. The idea is to showcase your (or your group’s, maximum of 4 people per group) talent for 90 seconds. This can include anything original and entertaining – magic tricks, stand-up comedy, balancing acts, unicycling, contortionists, a talking animal, a pet that can do tricks, singing, dancing, playing an instrument, imitating sounds/music, or anything unusual that you can think of!

Please note that this is the only opportunity to enter the Showville competition. Given time and capacity constraints, the amount of applications may be limited by the producers without prior warning. At 6pm the four finalists will be announced. You will need to be available over the next 2 days to receive training from our coaches and for our camera crews to follow you around your town to meet your family and friends.

DAY 2

The four finalists will be coached by Rob and Bontle to improve their specific performance. They will also be interviewed and introduce their town and people to the TV audience.

DAY 3

The four finalists will have a full dress rehearsal from 2pm, for their final stage performance later that day at 6pm. After the show all the audience members will be able to cast one vote for their favourite finalist. The votes will be immediately counted and overseen by an independent auditor. The winner will be announced and awarded R10 000. The prize money will only be transferred to your account once your episode is aired on SABC2.

TICKETS FOR THE FINAL SHOW ON DAY 3

Anyone that wishes to attend the final, fantastic show must be in possession of a valid ticket, which will be available free of charge. The finalists will receive 5 tickets each. On Day 2 the rest of the tickets will be available for the community at the venue from 12.30pm. Every person can collect a maximum of 2 tickets. Please note that only a limited number of tickets will be available due to space constraints. Once all have been handed out, no more tickets will be available, and nobody will be allowed onto the premises on Day 3 without a ticket. If you have a ticket, please arrive at 5.30pm and be prepared to stay until 7.30pm. Once the show commences, nobody will be allowed in. This is to ensure that the audience sees all four acts to vote for the best one.
